Job Description Summary

The Student Activities Assistant in the Student Activities and Leadership Development Office play a vital role in supporting the office's marketing and operational functions. With a strong emphasis on marketing and branding, this position involves creating promotional materials, managing branding initiatives, and overseeing day-to-day office operations.

This position works a minimum 4-hour desk shift, in addition to mandatory bi-weekly staff meetings and one-on-one with supervisor.

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete training sessions necessary to acquire skills and knowledge.

  • Design marketing materials for various programs and initiatives within the Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development includes Campus Activities Board, Orientation and general student activities.

  • Develop promotional materials for events and initiatives, includes calendars and newsletters.

  • Lead a team of Event Manager staff during desk hours.

  • Oversee and support office’s social media and digital platforms, including CampusLabs.

  • Develop branding strategies and execute in a timely manner.

  • Maintains office supplies including ordering, budgeting and restocking.

  • Organizes office tasks and ensures timely completion.

  • Attends meetings as required.

  • Perform customer service duties such as answering telephones, responding to email inquiries and greeting visitors.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance evaluation will be conducted at the end of the Fall semester.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students.

  • Must possess strong organization skills.

  • Ability to create visually appealing and effective marketing materials.

  • Ability to manage multiple activities, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to provide feedback, direction and support to other staff members.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders and other Student Life offices.

Education and Experience

Minimum:

  • Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design
  • Experience using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Animate, Cinema 4D, ToonBoom, or Adobe After Effects;
  • Project management experience.
  • Client management experience.

Preferred:

  • Previous supervising or team leading experience.
  • Working autonomously on branding for a company or department.
