Job Summary: The occupational therapy assistant will provide rehabilitative services, under the direction of occupational therapists, to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments to improve activities of daily living and increase functional independence. Works closely with the OT and other departmental staff, disciplines, providers, patients, and families. They will keep the therapist up to date on patient’s status.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:
Graduated with an Associate Degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy Assistant approved by the Council of Medical Education or Hospital of the American Medical Association or the American Occupational Therapy Association. NBCOT certification is required. Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant from the Kentucky Board of Occupational Therapy is required. BLS/CPR Certification is required. EXPERIENCE: One-year experience inpatient/outpatient preferred. Very effective communication skills highly desirable.
