Machine Maintenance Technician- Shift 1B (Thursday to Saturday)

The objective of the  DTG MACHINE TECHNICIAN position is to ensure that the DIRECT TO GARMENT(DTG) Equipment  (Kornit, Adelco) is working at their optimum, i.e. to minimize downtime and damage rate due to technical problems of DTG Equipment in a time and cost efficient manner. This position will also work on fine-tuning system settings for Kornit machinery, perform technical troubleshooting and repairs, as well as routine preventative maintenance and employee training for all DTG equipment.
 

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all Kornit Storm II printers in the NC facility have the optimal settings for consistently producing high quality prints in a high-speed production setting with minimized waste and ink costs.

• Monitor and minimize the damage rate caused by technical problems or incorrect settings of the Kornit, Adelco machines through troubleshooting as the problems arise and not allowing the damage rate to increase. The goal for machine errors: no more than 1%.

• Minimize Kornit and Adelco downtime due to technical problems.

• Perform DTG Equipment (Kornit and Adelco equipment) technical troubleshooting and repairs as soon as it arises and coordinating the repairs schedule with the Production Supervisor or Assistant Manager.

• Constantly monitor the quality of the prints, promptly identify any machine errors and proactively look for solutions. Do Quality Reviews when requested. 

• Ensure that all Kornit Storm II printers and Adelco Dryers in the NC facility are well maintained through ensuring that the daily maintenance procedures are done properly and logged, as well as performing the weekly maintenance oneself and logging it. 

• Order spare parts, contact Kornit and Adelco technical support if needed. Maintain a spare parts kit to be able troubleshoot the most common technical problems as they occur.

• Create the maintenance logs for kornit printers, all dryers, and compressors and ensure that they are properly filled-out and executed

• Create and keep up-to-date Kornit Storm II, Adelco (stored electronically in a centralized location) user and maintenance guides and a quiz to be used as a foundation of the training procedures and a quick reference guide for the operators. 

• Create an NC knowledge base or NC contribution to the centralized knowledge base about Kornit printers and Adelco dryers to minimize technical downtime.

• Assist in employee training on the abovementioned equipment when requested by the supervisor (Production Supervisor or COO).

• If requested by the Management, create new setups for new garment SKUs to be printed on Kornit.

• Establish alternate suppliers for Kornit serviceable parts reducing maintenance costs per unit.

• Visit Printful CA facility for knowledge sharing and troubleshooting, if requested by the Management. 

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• High school diploma/GED

• 1-2+ years of experience in printing industry or retail/warehouse/manufacturing setting preferred

• Mechanical training

• Strong work tenure: two to five years of experience working with direct to garment machinery preferably in an E-commerce or start up organization highly desired
