Job Description

NREL’s office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) has a position opening for a full time Business Intelligence (BI) analyst.  The analyst will report within the NREL OCFO Financial Systems and Project Delivery group and will also have the opportunity work with and support the three other OCFO groups: Financial Operations, Acquisition Services and Financial Planning & Analysis.  The position will be primarily dedicated to implementation and maintenance of a new Business Intelligence reporting tool, and creation of new reports and dashboards based on business and technical requirements.  This position will also help develop training materials to educate various NREL stakeholders on how best to use the new Business Intelligence reporting tool. The analyst will collaborate with NREL Information Technology Services (ITS) data team for development of data governance, delivery of OCFO data sets, and troubleshooting current BI system errors.

Job duties will include:

• Participate in discussions with stakeholders to define and document requirements for new reports and dashboards.

• Develop and test new reports/dashboards, ensuring alignment with business and technical needs.

• Design innovative and user-friendly visualizations to enhance data interpretation for OCFO staff and customers.

• Analyze and document business definitions for new and existing data sets.

• Validate and input business definitions into data schemas.

• Provide troubleshooting support for BI user groups and resolve reporting issues.

• Collaborate with ITS on data governance and management.

• Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for stakeholders on BI tool usage.

• Support the creation of data governance policies and procedures.

• Participate in quality assurance testing and peer review for BI products.

• Analyze and integrate new data sources into the enterprise reporting framework.
