The Director, Nursing Curriculum/Online Programming is responsible for leading, implementing, and maintaining curriculum objectives, learning and teaching strategies for all nursing programs, and initiatives that reflect the vision and mission of the School of Nursing and University.

The Director, Nursing Curriculum/Online Programming is a role that works collaboratively with the  Curriculum and Learning Experience team to administer programs within the School of Nursing and:

• Is accountable for the student’s academic experience and ownership of critical metrics related to student learning outcomes.
• Ensures compliance and alignment of curriculum with programmatic/professional nursing standards and accreditation and regulatory bodies for all nursing programs.
• Works collaboratively with the Regional Deans of Nursing, National Director of Simulation, and Director of Student Success to achieve curriculum objectives and student learning outcomes.
• Works collaboratively with university leadership, colleagues, staff, and students to advance the vision and mission of the University.

Nursing Program Governance

• Collaborates with the institution's leaders and faculty members and ensures alignment between all programs.
• Collaborates with the Curriculum and Learning Experience Team to ensure alignment of School of Nursing curriculum as defined by accreditation and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborates with external partners to facilitate a continuous improvement process to ensure use of state-of-the-art learning resources.
• Provides leadership, guidance, and support for all nursing programs with a focus on best practice and mentoring, including professional development, conflict resolution, academic pedagogy, fiscal responsibility, and student management and engagement, thus supporting online post-licensure programs.
• Ensures compliance, achievement, and continuous improvement regarding the standards set forth by Boards of Nursing, regional and programmatic accreditors, and licensing agencies.
• Focuses on ensuring the nursing curricula maintain requisite Board of Nursing standards, accrediting bodies’ standards, and other professional requirements necessary to maintain rigorous, competitive nursing programs.
• Engages at all levels and across multiple functions within the University and with key external stakeholders, such as with community-building and committee work.
• Works directly and collaboratively with the Associate Vice President, Nursing Instruction and Operations to drive programmatic accreditation, curriculum updates and implementation, and external relations according to state and community needs.
• Participates in University-wide strategic planning activities related to academic matters, contributing to academic policy development and implementation.

Outcome Attainment

• Participates in tracking key academic metrics used to monitor the performance of nursing programs.
• Prepares reports, plans, and analyses to document and advance the academic activities and initiatives of the nursing programs.
• Explores opportunities to add value to the School of Nursing educationally and operationally.

Nursing Academic Leadership 

• Provides direction in planning and administrating the nursing programs and specialty tracks, including assessment, development, evaluation, and revision of courses and overall curriculum.
• Ensures faculty participation in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum.
• Partners with campuses to adopt, develop, and maintain curriculum materials, including course syllabi, texts, eBooks, and testing needs.
• Performs in a leadership capacity in the guidance of including the 2021 AACN The Essentials: Core Competencies of Professional Nursing into the BSN, MSN, and DNP programs.
