Job Title: Bookkeeper Industry: Construction Employment Type: Part Time; 20 hours per week We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial tasks using Xero. The role covers basic bookkeeping functions such as invoicing, payroll, and bank reconciliations, while also supporting the overall accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Key Responsibilities • Manage and process invoices (accounts receivable and accounts payable) in Xero • Handle payroll preparation and processing • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy of financial records • Record daily financial transactions and maintain up-to-date ledgers • Track expenses and ensure accurate categorization in Xero • Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments • Assist with preparation of financial reports and summaries as needed • Ensure compliance with company policies and basic accounting standards • Support month-end and year-end closing activities • Maintain accurate digital records and organize supporting documentation • Liaise with accountants and external auditors when necessary Qualifications • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role • Proficiency in Xero accounting software • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Good organizational and time-management skills • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity • Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets is a plus Nice to Have • Experience with payroll compliance and tax-related filings • Prior experience working in a remote/virtual environment • Familiarity with other accounting tools or CRM systemsApply for this role
