WORKING TITLE: SENIOR CLERK F/C
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Gulf Correctional Institution in the Classification department.
Our mission in the Classification Department is to accurately assess and classify inmates based on their needs, risks, and behaviors. We ensure appropriate housing and program placements within the correctional system. Our goal is to enhance safety and security while promoting effective rehabilitation, ultimately aiding in the successful reintegration of inmates into society.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Department Backbone: Prepare correspondence, memorandums, and essential forms and documents, supporting the Classification Department's core functions.
- Inmate Records Specialist: Maintain inmate files, conduct audits on new inmates, and prepare necessary forms, playing a crucial role in the Inmate Records area.
- Organizational Pro: Input data into the CDC database, retrieve and print information, and maintain classification documentation with precision.
- Smooth Operations: Keep the department running smoothly by handling mail, copying, scanning, and faxing documents efficiently.
- Customer Service Star: Answer phone calls professionally, assist inmate families, and take on special projects and clerical duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a high school diploma or it's equivalent.
- Must possess at least one year of experience in clerical duties.
