Job Description
The senior social strategist is the pulse for our brands online. You’re in-tune to what’s happening across social and have all sorts of opinions on them and want everyone to hear about it. You’re pretty seasoned and have seen brand wins, brand flops, and have lived to tell the tale.
In this role, you’re going to be leading the social strategy for two major pet food brands and help launch big campaigns online.
- Responsible for the work product across a team and multiple brands
- Responsible for driving the social strategy for two pet food brands on an always-on basis
- Lead all major client deliverables, such as social strategies and channel strategies, ensures all material adheres to best practices, and presents all materials to internal stakeholders and clients
- Responsible for development of content briefs for recurring content, ad-hoc requests, and incremental campaign work
- Partners with other discipline leads (Data & Analytics, Creatives, and Strategists from other strategic disciplines) on account work to synthesize research, uncover new insights, and optimize creative on a quarterly and annual basis
- Crafts and directs development of Thought Leadership and POVs on the following:
- Developments in social, and what it means for our industry and our clients [e.g., POV document, emails or presentations]
- Industry news/trends
- Platform updates
- Social trends forecasting
- Client competitor news
- Recommendations for adapting social strategies based on POV updates
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of professional experience in social media
- Innately curious, shares share intriguing new innovations, trends, consumer behaviors, and activations that hold potential applications for the clients
- Can do research without guidance, identifying interesting patterns and insights across diverse observations.
- Challenge assumptions and recognize gaps or areas for improvement
- Evaluate a range of options, filtering out what is not important, and identifying what is the most important
- Extract valuable insights for strategic planning, while also providing actionable and tactical recommendations to guide clients on specific courses of action
- Visualizes your thinking, building POVs, presentations or client deliverables without upfront guidance
- Can articulate complex ideas, systems, and strategies clearly and intelligently verbally or in writing, while adding value during conversations.
- Well-versed in client's industry, understanding their business objectives and can challenge client briefs, ensuring they address the true business objectives at hand
- Confident, solution-oriented, approaches situations with an open mind
- Experience with collaborating various departments during working sessions to align on tactics and achieve collective goals
- Can identify KPIs based on client objectives and can extract valuable insights from trends in performance, partnering with an analyst to capture implications and optimizations
- Able to inspire creativity and provide constructive feedback to creatives, ensuring their work aligns seamlessly with the established brief
