Ginkgo believes that if we are to grow a thriving, sustainable bioeconomy, we must also grow a new market in biosecurity. Our biosecurity and public health initiative, Concentric by Ginkgo, launched a nationwide emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing end-to-end pathogen monitoring services to schools, communities, and travelers. As we continue to scale Concentric, our work is also evolving into new and exciting directions, from global expansion to the integration of new technologies and capabilities, including our Traveler-Based Genomic Surveillance Plan with the CDC.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and grow new USG or other Government opportunities in Biosecurity in coordination with Concentrics Business Development team
  • Plan and implement business development strategy for portfolio of the Intelligence Community and certain components of the Department of Defense
  • Build a pipeline of qualified opportunities for portfolio of Fed Civ Government agencies 
  • Serves as a subject-matter expert for USG-Biosecurity funding within Concentric
  • Attends/speaks at industry conferences Coordinates Business Development related activities with other groups and functions across the organization
  • Supports proposal writing activities, including writing and reviewing content
  • Travels as necessary

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business, technology, or a life sciences field (e.g., biotechnology, medicine, molecular biology, public health, genetics)
  • Min of 5 years of USG-relevant experience (within USG, or supporting)
  • Understanding of OMB and Federal Civilian contracting and decision making

Preferred Capabilities and Experience

  • Ph.D. a plus 12+ years experience in a OMB, EOP setting
  • Demonstrated ability to build and nurture a pipeline of qualified opportunities with Government agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to thoughtfully expand existing partnerships
  • Passion for collaboration and significant experience in relationship-building, and ability to leverage and convert market knowledge and relationships into business opportunities 
  • Motivation and ability to innovate while working towards Concentrics goals
  • Excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, and an ability to work across organizational boundaries
  • Eagerness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and enthusiasm to be a part of Concentrics mission
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition policies, processes, procedures, and contracting laws
