PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Security Coordinator oversees and optimizes physical security operations at the World Headquarters (WHQ) campus, including managing the effective performance of 3rd party security services, implementing continuous security improvements, and maintaining life safety documents. Additionally, the Security Coordinator serves as a strategic advisor, actively contributing to the continuous improvement of security measures at various locations in Buffalo and providing guidance to enhance security protocols across the U.S. and Canada offices

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive security strategy, based on Rich Products Corporate Security Risk Management policies and standards, to maintain a high level of security at the WHQ campus, including emergency response plans.
  • Oversees the performance of the 3rd party security company at the WHQ campus, including monitoring their activities, evaluating personnel, and ensuring that security policies and post orders are followed. Supports orientation, training and continual development of security team.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of post specifications, post orders, patrol areas, security, fire, and medical emergency procedures, staffing requirements and priorities, as well as policies and procedures.
  • Implements and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance security measures on-site, holding regular meetings to assess and update security protocols.
  • Create and update a catalog of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess security service provider performance.
  • Ensures timely reporting of security incidents, including but not limited to incidents involving associates, visitors, and property.
  • Supports the response to operational emergencies and ensures timely tactical response, timely and efficient communications and accurate reporting.
  • Manages visitor management procedures and execution, creating a seamless check-in experience, assisting with events, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Serves as an expert for the camera and badge system deployed on the campus, troubleshooting system issues, and coordinating necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Collaborates in the development and maintenance of key life safety documents, such as fire evacuation plans, medical emergency plans, active assailant plans, and other emergency response protocols.
  • Organizes and develops drills and exercises related to security, fire, medical, and evacuation procedures.
  • Establishes procedures related to access control and oversee their execution, including card issuance and monitoring.
  • Manages the parking permit program, including issuing permits, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with parking policies.
  • Enforces security procedures and implements innovative measures to ensure compliance, addressing issues such as piggybacking and failure to wear badges.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of physical security strategies for U.S.-Canada offices, encompassing support for life safety documents and related initiatives.
  • Able to travel occasionally, up to 5%, for training, meetings, or other job-related activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience,
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in security and/or a background in law enforcement.
  • ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification and/or IFPO Certified in Security Supervision and Management (CSSM) is preferred.
  • Previous experience in security management or a related role, with knowledge of access control systems and surveillance technology.
  • Process driven, resilient and adaptable.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in security protocols, emergency response procedures, and visitor management.
  • Familiarity with life safety and emergency preparedness documents.
