Job Description

This role will be based in New York.

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

In this fast-paced and high-visibility role, you will support communications for LinkedIn News, our global editorial team of journalists, with a focus on LinkedIn Lists (e.g., Top Companies, Jobs on the Rise, Skills on the Rise, Top Startups, Top Colleges). You’ll shape and execute communications strategies that elevate LinkedIn’s editorial storytelling, reinforce our brand as a trusted voice on the changing world of work, and drive cultural relevance through data, media, and partnerships. 

This is an exciting role for someone passionate about consumer communications work with an interest in culture and workplace trends. This person will be involved in all stages of the communications initiatives – from concept formulation, cross-functional planning, message development, media relations, execution and results-oriented reporting. Must be a good collaborator and exhibit a strong work ethic.  

 Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the day-to-day communications lead for LinkedIn Lists, including: Jobs on the Rise, Skills on the Rise, Grad’s Guide, Top Companies, Top Startups, Top Colleges, Top MBA’s, Cities on the Rise, and other flagship franchises.

  • Oversee the strategy, planning, and execution of the Lists program from concept through launch, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams. 

  • Translate LinkedIn data and editorial insights into compelling storytelling opportunities that drive press coverage and member engagement.

  • Lead global coordination and act as the primary liaison for senior stakeholders and regional communications leads.

  • Drive earned storytelling around workplace trends, emerging industries, and cultural moments connected to LinkedIn data.

  • Build and maintain relationships with top-tier and emerging media, including digital publishers, broadcast outlets, and creator platforms.

  • Manage and direct the consumer communications agency on strategy, execution, and results reporting.

  • Provide strategic counsel to internal partners, ensuring alignment between product, brand, and editorial messaging.

  • Oversee media prep, briefing documents, and rapid-response materials for key moments and spokespeople.

  • Use AI tools and data insights to identify emerging storylines, test headlines, and optimize media discoverability across LLMs.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on coverage impact, share of voice, and cultural resonance.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 2+ years of experience in External Communications OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field AND minimum 4+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 2+ years of experience in External Communications. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proven track record leading global communications strategies. 

  • Demonstrated ability to make quick decisions, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment among senior stakeholders in high-pressure situations.

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience. 

  • Excellent media relations skills.

  • Passion for culture, workplace trends, and data-driven storytelling.

  • Experience supporting editorial, media, or newsroom teams.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured, and deadline-oriented environment, and can manage multiple launches simultaneously.

  • Strong research and analytical skills; able to translate complex data into simple, engaging narratives.

  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot) and curiosity about how AI is transforming communications, journalism, and discoverability.
