Job Duties
Come grow with us! It's a great time to join our team as the Director of Budgets and Grants and oversee and optimize the budgeting and grants processes across two agencies with multiple funding streams and compliance requirements.
Manages the budgeting process and all grant-related activities. Develops, implements, and monitors budgets to ensure financial sustainability while maximizing grant opportunities.
Collaborates with various departments to align financial resources with strategic goals and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Ensures efficient allocation of financial resources while enhancing collaboration and compliance with grant requirements.
Works closely with leadership to align budgeting strategies with organizational goals and drives performance improvements across the shared services framework.
Provides high level project management and coordination; oversees compliance and ARMIC functions; ensures internal controls are in place and audit issues are addressed; manages professional staff and administrative functions; and provides supplemental support to the Director of Finance and Chief Administrative Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; financial principles, budgeting processes, and grant regulations; applicable laws and regulations regarding financial operations, business processes, information systems and reporting requirements; budget life cycle, management, and execution; financial reporting requirements; internal control standards; and grant requirements.
Excellent communication, computer (e.g., Word/Excel/Access), QA, decision making, and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to oversee complex budget and grants management operations; manage staff and administrative functions; prepare and execute budget; plan, forecast, analyze and audit financial data/transactions; identify and report issues, recommend changes, and negotiate resolution; prepare financial reports and statements; develop, interpret, and apply policies and procedures; provide training and technical assistance; ensure timely deliverables; develop strategic recommendations; and collaborate with diverse teams.
This position requires completion of a Statement of Economic Interest (SOEI) form and mandatory training on COIA.
Valid driver's license as limited travel may be required to attend meetings, workshops, etc., and service clients.
Additional Considerations
Education, training, and/or experience with accounting, finance, business, grants management, or related field.
Progressively responsible experience managing accounting, financial, budget and grants activities and professional staff.
Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite, Cardinal, eVA and grants management software; federal grants management; budget life cycle in a governmental setting; related state and federal requirements (DOA, DPB, APA, and DOL); ARMICS requirements; and SBS model (servicing multiple agencies).
Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, or similar designation.
