Responsibilities

POSITION DUTIES:

 
  • Execute a full range of clinical psychological diagnostic, strategies, procedures, and intervention services for children birth through 21 years of age with developmental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
  • Carry out psychological assessments for children who exhibit chronic behaviors of unsatisfactory adjustment or have a chronic history of emotional impairment.
  • Administer, score and interpret psycho-diagnostic tests used for diagnosing mental, personality, and behavioral disorders for children and adolescents with complex interpersonal developmental disorders as an independent clinician.
  • Interview and integrate interview information with psycho-diagnostic test data to establish and fortify psychological diagnoses in accordance with criteria in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).
  • Provides direct therapy, consultation, and co-teaching models of services to children with identified psychotherapy needs as indicated by evaluation.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Pediatrics) Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
