About the role
This is a remote position.
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM West Jordan, Utah, USA, Mountain Time; 40 hours per week / 8 hours per day, 30-minute paid breakRoles and Responsibilities
1. Market Research and Analysis
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, potential products, and competitive pricing.
- Analyze customer preferences and purchasing behaviors to guide product selection.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers to ensure favorable conditions.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure reliable product availability.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to stay updated on market changes, new products, and pricing.
- Assess product quality, specifications, and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct sampling and testing of products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Collaborate with inventory management teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
- Analyze cost structures to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved margins.
- Work with finance teams to ensure pricing strategies align with overall business objectives.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with the company’s growth goals.
- Participate in setting long-term objectives related to product acquisition and supplier partnerships.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market trends for management.
- Use data analytics tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and improve sourcing efficiency.
- Ensure that all sourcing activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with suppliers and market fluctuations.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and logistics teams to align product offerings with customer demand.
- Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
- Analytical Thinking: Proficiency in data analysis and market research.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for effective relationship management.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the wholesale industry and product categories relevant to the business.
