Manager, Maintenance & Reliability

The Manager Maintenance & Reliability oversees the maintenance and repair operations of the organization's facilities, equipment, and machinery while managing the planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure high machine reliability and minimizing unexpected downtime.
He/she will play a critical role within our manufacturing plant maintaining high standards for safety, quality, efficiency and service (OTIF).

 

 

Your key responsibilities

• Manage the application of all relevant safety policies and standards (internal & legal)
• Ensure operational efficiency of equipment by managing timely preventive and curative maintenance activities (incl. negotiating contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work)
• Ensure risk assessments are conducted for all maintenance routine activities and SOPs aligned with these risk assessments are in place and refreshed at regular intervals
• Work with staff to continuously identify SHE and quality risks and improvements opportunities by conducting frequent audits and improving SOPs
• Responsible for Staff selection, training, development, coaching, retention and morale. Also responsible for building an effective team in terms of leadership and performance focus and ensuring succession plans in place
• Lead the team in achieving departmental KPIs targets and drive continuous improvement efforts
• Build a strong team player relationship with fellow operational heads to meet the business requirements and play an active role in building constructive relationships with labour unions.
• Develop budgets (CAPEX and OPEX) and approve expenditure on supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labour and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets

You bring

• Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong understanding of maintenance processes, safety standards, and permit-to-work systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Technical qualifications in engineering or a related field
• Problem Solving & Decision Making
• A sense of accountability – you take initiative, speak up, and see things through
• Curiosity and open mindedness
• Team player and customer-orientation
