The Senior Manager, Medical Education (Sr Mgr, Med Ed) collaborates with appropriate stakeholders and manages the strategic planning and execution of relevant medical education deliverables aligned with the Medical Affairs strategic plan for assigned therapeutic area(s). These deliverables include development and review of compliant scientific exchange materials to be used in external interactions with KOLs (i.e. by MSLs), advisory boards, internal medical affairs strategic communication tools (i.e. medical narratives) and other internal medical affairs training and education materials (i.e. core MA training modules). The focus of these plans and activities will be either global, US-focused with intended use and adaptation by other regions globally, or solely US-focused depending on respective projects. This role will also be responsible for implementing process improvements and driving innovation as appropriate to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department. Given the needs of specific projects, the work may or may not include collaboration with and supervision of external vendors. In addition, the Senior Mgr, Med Ed will be involved in activities around the Medical Review Process (MRC) for legal and regulatory review of materials. Depending on the need of assigned projects, activities may also include managing support of independent Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities as well as leading and supporting company-led medical education activities for assigned therapeutic area(s). The Senior Mgr, Med Ed will have a strong working knowledge of appropriate legal and regulatory / ethical guidelines. If relevant, the Senior Mgr, Med Ed may work with external alliance partners.Essential Functions
Manage and development and drive execution of Medical Education plans for assigned therapeutic area, including Medical Education content (e.g., external facing slide decks, infographics, advisory board materials, digital scientific communication materials, internal training content, etc.).
Collaborate with other stakeholders across Global & US Medical Affairs functions and other regions in addition Clinical Development, Publications, and other teams to develop medical education plans and execute on deliverables as needed.
Serve as the Medical Education subject matter expert for assigned therapeutic area and analyze and effectively communicate scientific literature and data relevant to the product, disease, and treatment landscape through various formats and channels.
Drive implementation of medical education activities for assigned products as per defined plans.
Lead innovative advancements and process improvements that contribute to achieving Team goals and objectives.
Provide support to assigned stakeholders on ad hoc projects and/or initiatives.
Other activities may include managing the intake, review, and approval process as well as evaluation of post-activity reports for CME activities. Conduct CME audits on a case-by-case basis.
Maintain process documents, ways of working and other internal resources as needed
Ensure that the contract responsibilities of any third-party vendors are met including managing the internal review process.
