Compensation

Job Description
The purpose of this Veterinary Technician position is to ensure exceptional patient care while supporting the Internal Medicine and Oncology services through advanced technical, nursing, and administrative responsibilities. The Veterinary Technician performs comprehensive patient assessments, administers treatments, assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provides compassionate care to patients throughout their treatment journey.
This role works closely with veterinarians, fellow technicians, and hospital staff to ensure the highest standard of medical care while delivering outstanding client communication and service. The Veterinary Technician also helps maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment that promotes patient comfort and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care, ensuring patients remain clean, comfortable, and stress-free.
- Monitor hospitalized and outpatient patients, reporting changes in condition to the attending veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient updates to referral veterinarians.
- Follow isolation and biosecurity protocols for contagious patients.
- Safely restrain patients for examinations, treatments, and diagnostics.
- Administer medications and chemotherapy while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with patient treatments, including IV catheter placement, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, oxygen therapy, and feeding tube placement.
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with sedation for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Prepare for and assist with advanced Internal Medicine procedures, including endoscopy, CT imaging, and other diagnostics.
- Perform in-house laboratory testing, prepare samples for outside laboratories, and process prescriptions and refills.
