Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Technician 5, Facilities Maintenance to join our team in Fremont, United States. In this senior-level position, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing complex maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of our facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Analyze and optimize building automation systems for energy efficiency and comfort
- Interpret complex blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications for maintenance and repair projects
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance schedules
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices and advanced maintenance techniques
- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks
- Participate in energy management initiatives and sustainability projects
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed, including after-hours and weekend calls
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with a focus on complex systems
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and repair
- Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems maintenance
- Strong familiarity with building automation systems and energy management practices
- EPA Universal Certification, HVAC Certification, and Electrical Certification
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies and work flexible schedules when required
