Senior SAP HANA & Database Architect (Consultant)

Location: 100% Remote

Contract Duration: 12 Months (Project-based)

Type: Freelance / SRL or PFA

Availability: Full-time, including rotating On-call/Weekend shifts

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect with over 10 years of experience to lead and support our database infrastructure for a 12-month strategic project. The ideal candidate will act as a technical authority on SAP HANA and MSSQL platforms, ensuring high performance, security, and seamless integration within Public Cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: Leverage deep RDBMS knowledge to design and optimize database structures, ensuring alignment with industry benchmarks.
• Infrastructure Management: Provide end-to-end administration for SAP HANA and MSSQL. Experience with ASE, DB2, or MaxDB is a significant plus.
• Cloud Operations: Deploy, manage, and scale databases across Public Cloud domains including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Business Continuity: Design and implement robust Backup & Restore solutions, Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, and High Availability (HA) configurations.
• System Lifecycle: Execute complex System Copies and maintain rigorous DB Security standards.
• Automation & Scripting: Drive operational efficiency by implementing automation tools and custom scripts for routine tasks.
• Documentation: Organize and maintain high-quality "Day 2" operational documentation.
• Operational Support: Participate in an on-call rotation and handle scheduled weekend tasks during working hours.

Technical Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator/Architect in enterprise environments.
• Core Tech Stack: Expert-level knowledge of SAP HANA and MSSQL.
• OS Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Linux is mandatory.
• Cloud Expertise: Practical experience in managing database workloads on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Backup Solutions: Advanced expertise in developing and troubleshooting backup strategies and recovery protocols.
• Additional DBs: Familiarity with SAP ASE, DB2, or MaxDB is highly desirable.
• Certifications: Professional Database Platform certifications (SAP, Microsoft, or Cloud) are a strong advantage.
