About the role:
CLA is looking to hire a Controller for our Client Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS) who can sit in our Las Vegas, NV offices. Our CAAS practice helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.
As a Controller, you will:
- Assist the accounting team to record complex transactions
- Review complex account reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
- Complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process.
- Adhere to the client’s organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
- Provide detailed review of the general ledger, financial statements and required work papers
- Prepare work papers for the independent auditors, if applicable
- Analyze and interpret financial information and regularly present to the client’s leadership
- Develop budgets, analyze variances and implement corrective actions as needed
- Review payroll and payroll tax compliance
What you will need:
- A BS degree in accounting or related field required.
- 6 years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent is required.
- Accounting back office experience is required.
- Relevant experience in the Real Estate industry is preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
- Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems. QuickBooks experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
- Ability to travel to local client sites.
