VP, Corporate Development (Government, Defense & Technology)

About the role:We are seeking a VP, of Corporate Development, with a proven track record of successfully generating new business and influencing policy within the Government, Defense, and Technology sectors across multiple geographies. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the landscape in these sectors, particularly in the USA, Oceania, and Europe, and will help to establish and grow UpGuard's presence in these markets.

What you'll accomplish

• Develop and implement strategic plans to generate new business within the Government, Defense, and Technology sectors across the USA, Oceania, and Europe.
• Lead complex deal negotiations involving multiple parties, often with differing agendas.
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential business opportunities and strategic partnerships in line with UpGuard's vision and strategy.
• Build and maintain relationships with key Government, Defense, and Technology stakeholders.
• Collaborate with various teams within UpGuard to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to these sectors.
• Remain up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and potential opportunities in cybersecurity.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Corporate Development team.

What you'll need

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Cybersecurity, Technology, or related fields. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in a strategic role within the Government, Defense, or Technology sectors.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategies in these sectors.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close complex, high-value deals.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of the cybersecurity landscape in the USA, Oceania, and Europe.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

• Generous compensation: We're offering a base salary range for this role of between $230,000 - $250,000 + equity. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
