JOB SUMMARY: 

The Coordinator of COBAL Assessment and Advising supports the University by directing, coordinating, and supporting academic advising of undergraduate business students.  This position is responsible for the assessment and accreditation for COBAL and organizes recruitment initiatives for the college.  The work schedule required some flexibility with limited evening and weekend hours. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Academic Advising

  • Advise, recruit, and manage enrollment activities for the College of Business and Leadership (COBAL) Undergraduate program.  
  • Provides training, resources, and consultation for faculty advisors.
  • Provides advising to transfer students in COBAL.
  • Provides administrative advising support to the MBA and MOL program coordinator.
  • Actively participates and represents the College of Business and Leadership as a member of Lourdes University Committees such as the Advisory Council or other appropriate committees and groups.
  • Provides consultation and information to faculty advisors and the Assistant Dean of Advising and Retention for student retention. Tracks students’ academic progress and reports to appropriate parties.
  • Assures follow-up of prospective students and students who have stopped out of the program.
  • Conducts advising appointments with transfer students and newly admitted COBAL students.
  • Provides final degree audit of all graduating undergraduate COBAL students.
  • Collaborates with other Lourdes University academic and non-academic departments and faculty to maintain an effective advising system.
  • Assists with coordination and planning for COBAL involvement in Lourdes University events such as student orientation, convocation, campus wide meetings, and other meetings as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains business advisor/advisee rosters.
  • Answers faculty questions and provide training to new faculty in the area of advising. 
  • Contacts COBAL advisees receiving academic alerts and refers these students to the appropriate resources.
  • Attends and contributes to meetings as requested by the Assistant Dean of Advising and Retention.

Assessment:

  • Remains abreast with development and changes in accreditation requirements.
  • Supports assessment plan required for state and national accreditation.
  • Ensures the accreditation requirements are met in a timely fashion for all COBAL programs.
  • Collects assessment data on an ongoing basis and maintains the necessary records.
  • Prepares complete assessment reports for all COBAL programs which includes, but not limited to, annual reports, reaccreditation reports, self-study, assessment reports, data files, assurance of learning metrics … etc. 
  • Compiles and analyzes appropriate assessment data and other information and creates summary reports.
  • Supports faculty in the revisions identified from assessment data.
  • Serves on Assessment Committee as requested by the Dean of COBAL. 


Recruitment

  • Assists with the development of articulation agreements with other universities in collaboration with Program Directors and the Assistant Dean of Advising and Retention as needed.
  • Assists the Office of Admissions/Marketing in the creation of recruitment materials; serve as primary COBAL resource to potential undergraduate students during on-campus visits and on-campus recruiting events; respond to potential student inquiries in a timely manner in conjunction with the office of Admissions.
  • Assists to identify marketing strategies and support all recruitment initiatives.
  • Maintains a schedule of and attend admissions events, campus visits, registrations days, and other recruitment activities. 
  • Attends marketing and recruitment activities as requested. 
  • Remains abreast with job market needs and trends. 
  • Remains abreast with competition and other trends in the higher education market. 
  • Represents COBAL at recruitment functions as directed by the Dean. 


ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • At the discretion of the Dean and the Assistant Dean for Advising and Retention, employee may be asked to serve on committees or perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred. At least 1 year of full-time experience in advising, education, counseling or social work preferred.
