Stockton Hall is looking to recruit a maintenance assistant to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours per week.

Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, depending on clinical need, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

• Maintains a well-decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout the site, in line with quality standards, and follows work processes which comply with statutory regulations.  
• Ensures that Priory minimum standards are delivered in all site areas in a timely and efficient manner, as part of a team.  
• Identifies and reports damage, faults and other related issues to the Maintenance Manager (and then actions as agreed) to ensure that environmental conditions continue to meet quality standards and statutory regulations.  
• Carry out General Maintenance tasks as defined in the Appendix and in the General Property Maintenance Guide.

The ideal candidate should have basic numeracy and literacy skills, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. They must be capable of working with minimal supervision while demonstrating a strong customer-focused attitude and a solid team-working ethic. Experience and understanding in building, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical disciplines would be desirable. Excellent communication skills are also important for this role.
