Sr Staff Web Engineer

What does a successful Sr Staff Web Engineer at Fiserv do?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced full-stack web developer with expertise in React and Next.js to lead the architecture and development of complex, high-performance web applications. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our next-generation web platforms, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and exceptional user experiences.

What you will do:

  • Define the overall architecture of web applications utilizing React and Next.js, considering best practices for performance, scalability, and security.

  • Lead the selection and implementation of suitable libraries, frameworks, and tools within the React ecosystem.

  • Create component libraries and design system guidelines for consistent user interface development.

  • Hands-on development of complex web applications using React and Next.js, including server-side rendering (SSR) and API integration.

  • Build reusable components, custom hooks, and optimized code for optimal performance.

  • Implement state management solutions (e.g., Redux, Zustand) to manage application data effectively.

  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and stability.

  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to translate business requirements into functional web applications.

What you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in React and Next.js frameworks with a strong understanding of their core concepts.

  • Experience with modern JavaScript features (ES6+, async/await, arrow functions) Experience with data fetching techniques (REST APIs, GraphQL).Knowledge of state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, etc.)

  • Experience with build tools (Webpack, Babel) and version control systems (Git).

  • Experience designing scalable and maintainable web application architectures.

  • Experience with server-side rendering (SSR) and its benefits in SEO and performance.

What would be nice to have:

  • 5+ years of professional web development experience with React and Next.js.

  • Proven track record of building complex, high-performance web applications.

  • Experience leading technical discussions and design decisions within a development team.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
