Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, the Fleet Optimization Specialist efficiently schedules member and wholesale demand across the first party (1P) and/or Guaranteed Rate Program (GRP) fleets, ensuring adherence to company and vendor obligations while maximizing efficiency and profitability.
The Fleet Optimization Specialist will collaborate across departments to strategically manage the flight schedule, promptly addressing irregular operations and making decisions in line with departmental and company objectives
Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Trip Allocation and Continuous Optimization: Efficiently schedules trips from Pending Operator to the 1P and/or GRP fleets using Optimizer tools along with manual adjustments to optimize fleet utilization, considering downline impacts from trip recoveries and schedule shuffles upline.
- Capacity Management: Monitor and advise the Flight Desk when 1P and GRP fleet capacities are nearing limits and 3P Ad Hoc support will be required to meet the demand.
- Booking Advisory: Advise sales/quoting teams on availability for non-guaranteed trip bookings and change requests for Day 2-7.
- Schedule Efficiency Enhancement: Offer "Let's Make a Deal" (LMAD) incentives to encourage trip changes that enhance schedule efficiency and utility opportunity.
- Planned Maintenance Coordination: Liaise with Maintenance Planning to ensure optimal routing of aircraft for scheduled maintenance events. Leverage flexibility to increase supply during high demand periods.
- Crew Movement Planning: Strategically coordinate crew movement plans with scheduling teams. Provide suggestions for crew movement based on trip demands, new bookings, and recovery scenarios.
- Crew Availability Management: Establish, modify, and remove "Crew Unavailable" (No Crew) events based on crew supply forecasts. Ensure strategic allocation for special crew requirements, events, and high-priority trips on 1P.
- Guaranteed Rate Program (GRP) Operations: Collaborate with 3P operators to assess GRP fleet availability, updating FMS events accordingly amidst crew swaps and maintenance issues.
- Understanding GRP obligations: Make strategic schedule decisions that impact the ability to achieve targets on a per-operator basis.
- Other duties as assigned by department leadership
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements
We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in Part 135 operations and/or a scheduling role
- Proficient in entire Microsoft Suite (including Outlook), Flight Management Software, Real time communication/chat environment, and Flight Planning tools.
- Internal Candidates Only: Slack, UP FMS, and Optimizers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and resolve issues in a constructive manner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and circumstances.
