Facilities Care Specialists are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable facility at Seattle Bouldering Project, U District. Our Gym is one of the most unique climbing gyms on the west coast, located in a historic landmark building in a bustling neighborhood.
Facilities Care Specialists are an integral part of our dynamic team, collaborating daily with the front desk and our gym leadership team. These staff members have a direct impact on the experience of every individual that walks through the door, from a first impression of the space to a lasting experience, these staff help to create a welcoming and healthy environment.
The ideal candidate is interested in working 15-18 hours a week, with availability Thursday - Saturday between 5:45 am - 12:00 pm.
It is imperative to maintain excitement about the culture and community at the Seattle Bouldering Project. The facility team members are the representative of the community supported by SBP and must conduct themselves accordingly.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Many duties require the availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and events.
COMPENSATIONPay band for the Care Team starts at $20. Additional benefits include free gym membership for employee and significant other, healthcare is available for employees averaging at least 30 hours/week, sick and safe time in accordance with local laws, retail discounts, work/life balance and PTO for full time employees.

General Responsibilities
- Perform regular cleaning duties including but not limited to vacuuming climbing mats, mopping concrete floors, dusting required areas, regular cleaning of restroom areas, cleaning and sanitizing fitness equipment, and ensuring that all custodial related assignments are completed as assigned by the Facilities Manager
- Daily maintenance of our guest amenities, such as our infrared sauna.
- Executes on all facility related standard operating procedures, and provides input for improving efficiency.
- Maintains cleaning stations throughout the building during peak hours
- Performs regular bathroom and facility walk throughs, immediately remedying instances in need of attention
- Vacuuming and cleaning of non-climbing walls
- Internal window cleaning
- Dusting and High Dusting
- Other cleaning duties as assigned / required
Customer Service
- Respond to customer inquiries in a helpful and welcoming manner, referring to Operations staff as required
- Nurture positive and productive communication methods with co-workers.
- Willingness to learn about SBP policies and procedures in order to foster positive customer interactions when they occur
Facility Safety and Incident Response
- Ensure the safety of staff and customers through organized and conscientious working habits
- Respond to accidents and incidents following the Safety Manual and Protocol
- Administer first aid in accordance with Safety Manual and BP Protocol
- Document incidents through incident report log
Working Conditions

- Reports to Facilities Coordinator
- Start date: as soon as possible
