Purpose

Support the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, within the Cockrell School of Engineering, by working closely with the Senior Events & Engagement Coordinator. This position will be responsible for creating high‑quality graphic designs for social media, email communications, printed and digital marketing materials, and on‑campus digital displays. The role also includes assisting with department events by supporting event preparation, signage, digital presentations, and other engagement materials that enhance the BME community’s experience. This position offers hands‑on experience contributing to real‑world projects in a collaborative academic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the BME communications & marketing team in creating high-quality, graphic designs for social media, emails, marketing collateral (print & digital) and digital displays.

  • Assist the BME events team by capturing high quality photographs of department events

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Pursuing a major with related to communications, marketing, and/or design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience taking professional photographs

Salary Range

$15/hour

Working Conditions

  • May work in standard office conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation 

  • Use of manual dexterity 

Work Shift

  • Work schedule will be determined at the time of hiring.

  • Average scheduled weekly hours will be approximately 5.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as BME events take place.
