Job Functions

SDS (Supply Demand Synchronization) Manager supports the business teams by leading SDS process across Divisions and at a functional level to identify variances in actual performance on both demand and supply within the planning time fence and drive business-led decisions to synchronize demand and supply.  

 

What Will You Do?  

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:  ​​​​

  • Lead the initiative to implement and sustain SDS across the enterprise.   

  • Determine thresholds to include impact to revenue, service, inventory, and demand/supply. 

  • Orchestrate cross functional efforts with Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Divisional and Enterprise planning teams to drive changes to demand and supply execution according to the decisions set within the SDS process. 

  • Ensure the SDS meetings take place, gather required inputs, drive decision making, summarize outputs, and prepare for the following cycle. 

  • Build a strong integration between execution and planning through the interaction of SDS and IBP (Integrated Business Planning). 

  • Keep participants on track toward managing execution priorities, balancing short-term demand and supply and dealing with IBP plan exceptions. 

  • Rationalize existing meetings in an effort to streamline and improve the overall process. 

  • Establish planning time fences in coordination with Division and ISC stakeholders. 

  • Monitor short-term SDS performance in the areas of service and inventory management. 

  • Ensure metrics and targets are met within the window of execution (production variances, Forecast variance, service levels). 

  • Maintain compliance with enterprise working capital targets. 

  • Drive recalibration of demand and supply assumptions for future SDS cycles based on changes to the current cycle of execution with respect to planning time fences. 

  • Monitor item transitions, quality issues and new releases to ensure proper supply and demand plans are in place. 

  • Escalate near-term issues to IBP when thresholds are exceeded and ensure timely and aligned decision making via closed loop between SDS and IBP.  

  • Define process/cadence for escalation from SDS to IBP and other internal control processes.

What Do You Need?  

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:  

  • BS/BA Degree from an accredited institution; MBA preferred

  • 5 years of work experience in Program Management, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or similar roles

  • Previous experience with IBP / S&OP / SIOP  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc) 

  • Experience using advanced planning software tools.

  • Leadership and influence in both proactive and reactive environments. 

  • Experience in setting priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Demonstrated strong aptitude in analysis, root cause identification, and problem solving and formulating actions. 

  • Ability to build strong relationships across the functions and levels. 

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations.
