The business relationship manager (BRM) is a hands-on and strategic business partner who shares ownership for both business strategy and business value results. This BRM owns the relationship with the Supply Chain function and serves as a single point of focus, working to converge these functions’ needs across the Novelis North America region. They work collaboratively with the business stakeholders, regional IT, global IT and the respective Global IT BRMs to consolidate regional and global initiatives in each one of these areas. This is achieved by stimulating, surfacing, and shaping demand for capabilities and assets, in addition to ensuring that the potential business value from those capabilities and assets are captured, optimized, and recognized.

- Communicate and Act as the single point of contact and the strategic partner to the senior business leaders on all IT topics, including production support escalations, planned outages, upgrades, IT changes, new product introductions or changes. Collaborate with Corporate and Regional BRMs on a regular cadence to align on corporate strategies and regional strategies, and vice versa.
- Lead as the strategic interface between IT and Supply Chain, HR, Legal, Communications partners to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand. Regularly review new demand with the business partner, IT cluster leaders and ensure that the potential business value from new demand is captured. Brief stakeholders on other business partner plans and roadmaps.
- Identify business value and strategic business function opportunities, long term and short term, when developing ideas with a focus on digital awareness, risk assessment, IT security, business continuity, business capability requirements. Build consensus and track adoption across the relevant departments.
- Build and manage a rolling 3–5-year IT/Business technology roadmap for the North America Region.
- Coordinate the IT demand management life cycle. Ensures that they discuss and evaluate the demand at early stages, facilitate the eRFA process, follow all PMO processes such as idea capturing, demand management, project management, and resource management.
- Conduct regular cadence to prioritize demand and to negotiate against current roadmap and to bring awareness to the capacity vs demand metric.
- Develop a deep knowledge of the business area they support and be well versed of the technology and application portfolio in the respective area.
- Partner with business excellence teams (change management) to ensure effective business implementation for all initiatives in the functional areas in scope.
- Partner with the project/program/portfolio management organization (PMO) to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio. Give visibility to the business of the timeline and the financial health of their portfolio (roadmap).
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and the Portfolio Managers to review new business requirements against the current application and technology portfolios. Ideally, leverage a current solution to meet the needs. When a gap exists, make recommendations for new IT standards.
- Ensure projects and initiatives on their roadmap are progressing, achieving the business case, provide consistent and effective communication among all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline/equivalent) MBA or related advanced degree, a plus
- 5+ years managing Supply Chain systems, the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on company objectives
- Experience working across a matrix organization and across multiple functions
- Experience leading diverse teams, directly or indirectly, with demonstrated ability to organize and direct work
