The Maintenance Technician, Level II is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility’s physical plant, equipment, and infrastructure. This role includes work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems, as well as general upkeep of hospital grounds and support for departmental logistics. The technician works collaboratively with the maintenance team and other departments to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

 

Essential Functions: 

Facility Maintenance & Repairs: 



Perform routine and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment, building structures, and hospital systems. 





Paint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls and trim. 





Repair sidewalks, parking lots, and other surfaces using asphalt, concrete, and patching materials. 





Replace worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, belts, and fixtures. 



Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Support: 



Assist in the installation, maintenance, and removal of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. 





Operate and maintain hospital environmental control systems and mechanical plant equipment. 





Perform basic plumbing tasks and electrical troubleshooting as needed. 



Operational Support: 



Assist with moving furniture, unloading supplies, and setting up equipment. 





Power wash sidewalks, driveways, and exterior surfaces. 





Operate hospital-owned vehicles, including trucks and trailers, for transport and delivery tasks. 



Inventory & Compliance: 



Maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and follow established inventory protocols. 





Ensure compliance with safety standards and report faulty equipment or unsafe conditions promptly. 



Collaboration & Communication: 



Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and other departments to coordinate repairs and projects. 





Respond to work orders and verbal instructions efficiently and professionally. 





Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required. 





Perform other duties as assigned within scope of role. 


QualificationsQualifications (Education and Experience) 



High school diploma or GED required. 


Minimum of 12 months of general maintenance experience required. 


Hospital maintenance experience preferred.
