About the role

The range for this role is $17.79 - $22.60

Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education. This role includes opportunity to receive an annual bonus target of 5% of annual eligible earnings. Actual bonus amounts are determined by length of time in role, individual performance, and organizational performance.

Interested applicants must be willing and able to work onsite 3 days per week in either our Melbourne, FL or Colorado Springs, CO office.

The Job

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Pharmacy Services, this role coordinates and facilitates the utilization of drug manufacturer’s prescription drug patient assistance programs to decrease Medi-share members' pharmaceutical cost burdens. This role also coordinates and communicates with the member, the member’s provider care team, CCM’s Director of Clinical Operations, and other Medi-share ancillary team employees as directed.  

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying patients who are eligible for drug assistance programs
  • Contact manufacturers for eligibility criteria and application forms for drug assistance programs
  • Work with members on completion of application materials for medications that they are unable to afford
  • Ensure application packets meet the criteria of each prescription assistance program and are submitted on a timely basis
  • Follow up on submitted applications as needed and coordinate the appeals process on a case by case basis
  • Process pre-notification and pre-eligibility reviews within a timely service level agreement
  • Maintain documentation for all programs to include information from drug companies, all patients enrolled, and monitor for bills received
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports of all drug cost savings and sends to Pharmacy Director in a timely manner
  • Utilize the PhRMAs (The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America) Directory of Prescription Drug Patient Assistance Programs and other search tools as directed
  • Keep track of all submissions, pending applications, and denied applications in excel tracking programs
  • Analyze medical records for third party drug coverage, other programs eligibility, and Medi-share program guideline eligibility
  • Conduct educational and outreach activities to assist targeted populations
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of data and information used in the performance of his/her daily duties
  • Contribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry’s Christian beliefs
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Essential Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of state, federal, and community resource/programs
  • Experience in patient assistance program operations or related social service programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma with 1-3 years’ related experience required
  • Current National Pharmacy Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
  • Associate Degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or univers
