Introduction to role:
Join us at AstraZeneca as a Senior Specialist, Technical Operations at our cell therapy facility in Rockville, Maryland. This is your chance to break new ground and leave a collective legacy! As part of the Technical Operations team, you will work closely with the manufacturing and quality teams to ensure continuation of our manufacturing process in accordance with our quality standards.
Accountabilities:
As a Senior Specialist, you will lead investigations, drive corrective/preventive actions, and identify and implement process improvements. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, supporting tech transfers (new product introduction), providing technical support to manufacturing, driving continuous improvements using lean, six sigma principles, and training and mentoring junior associates.
Essential Skills/Experience:
• BS degree required in biological sciences, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in GMP manufacturing.
• Experience in technical writing.
• Possesses a continuous improvement and quality driven mindset.
• Knowledgeable of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in autologous cell therapy manufacturing
