The Business Information Security Officer (BISO) for the Americas at RWE will serve as the primary cybersecurity liaison for all RWE entities within the USA. This role is critical in embedding cybersecurity as an integral part of the business culture and operations. The BISO will align cybersecurity strategies with business objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards specific to the Americas.

 

Your responsibilities

• Act as a cybersecurity subject matter expert for the RWE entities based in the USA.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with business partners to integrate cybersecurity effectively.
• Monitor and analyze cybersecurity risk trends relevant to the various markets in the Americas.
• Participate in business and cybersecurity councils to represent and advocate for cybersecurity needs.
• Educate stakeholders on cybersecurity matters, policies, and best practices.
• Directly brief and advise the executive leadership teams for each American business unit.
• Engage business partners in understanding cybersecurity risks and implications of critical business decisions.
• Collaborate with global cybersecurity teams to ensure consistency and compliance across regions.

 

Your profile

• BA/BS in Business, Technology, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience in cybersecurity risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage cybersecurity in a diverse business environment.
• Strong and demonstrable knowledge of American regulatory and cybersecurity frameworks with a focus on the renewables energy industry.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze risk in business contexts and make informed decisions.
• Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards.

 

Advantageous, but not a must

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent preferred.
