Starting Pay: $$22.00/hour

The Holiday Inn at the Portland Airport features 284 guest rooms and 9,500 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel is located less than a mile from the Portland International Airport, seven miles from downtown Portland, and nine miles from downtown Vancouver. The hotel has convenient access to Tri-met bus lines reaching the suburban areas of metro-Portland.

Work Performed: 

The Banquet Captain will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: 

• Directs setting up for tables correctly and uniformly in assigned area using clean pressed linen, clean unspotted silverware, clean china with no chips or cracks, clean unspotted glassware;  

• Plans the serving order and orchestrates its completion in a timely, quiet and courteous manner;  

• Guide, direct, and motivate banquet staff and ensure the servers are ready to serve the meal when its prepared;  

• Set-ups, serves and/or breaks down coffee breaks, receptions, other special functions as assigned;  

• Maintain communication with the guest contact person for guest needs;  

• Understand the maintenance and usage of all Audio-Visual equipment and set-up, operate and dismantle audio-visual equipment required for each event.

• Able to perform job of Banquet Associate and Banquet Bartender;
