Basic Function

 

The SAP Sr (Functional Developer) is a key position in the discovery and delivery of business solutions from information technology. Through continuous consultation with the functional areas, has a deep understanding of business operations and is capable of articulating solutions in business terms and not technical jargon. They are capable of envisioning potential value for new IT solutions.  While they have a deep understanding of specific business areas, that expertise is set into a broader context of understanding the business processes and technical capabilities that may cross functional boundaries.

Roles & Responsibilities

 

• Supports the Forecast to Plan performing functional activities in Demand Planning and Sales & Operations Planning  processes including statistical forecast modeling, supply planning and other such processes
• Works closely with business colleagues, to quickly understand new requirements or problems, and then suggest a possible solution
• Lead solution design activities with client groups in a specific business area to create and to document the business requirements
• Perform development and configuration activities as needed along with working with the technical team for SAP ABAP, Azure integration, SAP CPIDS or web app type solutions
• Create Solution Documentation for solutions to ensure approved requirements are met
• Maintains relationship with business colleagues with excellent communication 
• Oversees enhancements and participate in projects activities including development solution documents, functional designs, and work with technical developers to ensure business requirements are clear and development activities are on schedule
• Develops and oversees the development of unit test cases and performs testing to ensure requirements are met for system modifications or data extracts.
• Consults with the business colleagues on appropriate change management activities to achieve organizational readiness for the implementation of changes.
• Demonstrates leadership by coordinating and/or supporting the requirements, specifications, and user acceptance testing efforts
• Participates in development of short and long-term plans and roadmaps
• Manages incident and problem management for assigned area
• Coordinate/act as a broker of services and suppliers, including Enterprise Architecture, Solution Delivery, Service Management, etc.

Min. Qualifications

 

 

• Must be proficient in SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) Configuration/Functional Development.  
• Experience in SAP APO, SAP ECC, and SAP MM. 
• Experience supporting or implementation of Sales and Operation Planning processes and the integration with Supply Chain processes.
• 8+ years of solutions and multiple domain experience with increasing levels of leadership responsibility in systems analysis, defining technical requirements, and performing high level design for complex solutions.
• 8+ years of work experience in roles that had a high level of client or end-user engagement with experience in both support and formal or informal leadership.
• 5+ years’ functional experience in SAP Integrated Business Planning Demand Planning and Sales & Operations Planning modules.
• Experience working with technical developers designing integration using SAP CPIDS or similar integration as well as Azure integration methods. 
• Must have functional development experience with the following SAP modules/components: Global Available to Promise or ATP in general, Advance Planning and Optimization:  Demand Planning, Production Planning/Detailed Scheduling
• SAP Sales & Distribution or Material Management experience optional  
• Experience in the Petrochemical Industry with strong business acumen. 
• Resource planning experience for complex projects

• Partners closely with business partners to analyze new projects and readiness for governance decisions and provides transparency of portfolio investments.
• Communicate and defend IT policies and standards and understand how IT services benefit the business.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 8+ years of solutions and multiple domain experience 
• 5+ years’ functional experience in SAP Integrated Business Planning Demand Planning and Sales & Operations Planning modules
