About You
As a Temporary Staff Accountant, you will bring what you’ve learned at previous accounting roles to a team that leverages multiple technology platforms to deliver value to their customers and is committed to efficiency and excellent service in all their interactions. This role will be assisting with accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and other various projects. Temporary assignment for approximately 6 months.
A Typical Day
- Record vendor bills, perform general accounting tasks including cash management, and assist in month-end close.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations using supporting documentation as part of the accounting month-end close process.
- Review, validate and process system interfaces into the accounting system.
- Perform daily cash management duties in rotation with the Senior Accountant.
- Assist in cash management function, including review of operational bank accounts and investment portfolios.
- Enter and ensure all AP payments have received proper approvals before processing.
- Process scheduled check runs, ensure special processing of checks are accomplished accurately and timely, and communicate with check printer to confirm proper handling of payments.
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements from the accounting system, including board-formatted financial statements and related notes.
- Analyze potential accounting transactions and perform research as needed.
- Review accounting processes and assist with procedure documentation.
- Help with other projects as determined by Department Director or Finance and Member Support Officer.
Skills For Success
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Professional and adaptable with an inquisitive personality and strong critical thinking skills.
- Expertise in MS Excel including VLookup, Pivot Tables, Macros, and other advanced functions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-faced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work in a team as a dependable member.
- Ability to execute on solutions and navigate ambiguity.
- Ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of multiple software applications including NetSuite and Origami preferred.
