Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our Methadone Clinic in Asheville, NC.
In this role, you'll provide counseling, case management, and recovery support to individuals receiving methadone treatment for opioid use disorder. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll help clients build the skills and support systems needed to achieve lasting recovery while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Compensation

CADC-I: $21.00 per hour

Qualifications
-
Active North Carolina CADC-I or CADC certification required.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred.

Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders or in a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) setting preferred.

Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Counseling
-
Provide individual counseling focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and treatment engagement.

Develop individualized treatment plans and regularly review client progress.

Conduct clinical assessments and assist with ongoing treatment planning.

Utilize evidence-based interventions including Motivational Interviewing and person-centered counseling techniques.
Case Management & Care Coordination
-
Maintain an assigned client caseload while providing ongoing support throughout treatment.

Coordinate care with medical providers, referral sources, probation officers, community agencies, and family members when appropriate.

Connect clients with community resources that support long-term recovery, housing, employment, and behavioral healthcare.
Documentation & Compliance
-
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state regulations, CARF standards, Medicaid guidelines, and Pyramid Healthcare policies.

Maintain client records, progress notes, treatment plans, releases of information, and discharge documentation.

Ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA regulations.
Team Collaboration
-
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.

Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, dosing staff, and behavioral health professionals to provide comprehensive client care.
