Prep Cook - Full Time

Oakdale Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center is seeking a full-time (32 hours) Prep Cook working 11am-730pm/ 930am-6pm, including every other weekend. As part of the Dining Services team at Oakdale Rehabilitation, providing an exceptional dining experience for our residents is very important.  Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key to be successful in this role. 

Pay Range (Dependent on Experience): $18.00 - $21.12/hr

Prep nutritional meals for Residents and direct kitchen operations.

Essential Functions:             

• In the absence of the Cook or Food Service Supervisor oversees the operation of the Kitchen.
• Assists in the preparation of all foods according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Assists in tray assembly and delivering carts to the nursing and
• dining areas.
• Assists in providing nourishments to Residents.
• Assists Cooks and Food Service Supervisor in inventory control and restocking.
• Follows department procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
• Ensure meals are ready at specified mealtimes.
• Ensure the delivery of quality food products according to standardized recipes menus in conjunction with the Cook and Food Service Supervisor.
• Participates in In-service meetings as required.
• Demonstrates Compliance with Infection Control and Safety policies.
• Promotes positive customer service to our Residents’ and their families and the communities we serve.

Educational:

• High School Diploma or GED. 
• Ability to read, speak and write English at a 10th grade level.
