Responsibilities
The Manger of Infection Prevention (IP) and Staff Development DSD (DSD) is responsible for overseeing, leading, and coordinating infection control and clinical education across skilled nursing facilities. The Manager of IP/DSD implements evidence-based practices in infection prevention, fosters continuous clinical learning, leads staff education, competency development initiatives, and ensures regulatory compliance. The role involves working closely with on-site Infection Preventionists, Directors of Staff Development and facility leadership, ensuring alignment with internal standards and quality improvement goals.
Qualifications
Education• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing requiredExperience• 3 years of relevant experience in a Long Term Care setting required• 2 years of experience in a leadership, educator, or infection control role required• Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious disease, and aseptic technique to include standard and transmission-based precautions requiredLicenses and Certifications• RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required• LTC-CIP - Long Term Care Certificate of Infection Prevention Training in Long Term Care Infection Control by a recognized association such as the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) or the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) required• DSD - Certified Director of Staff Development required
