About the role

Position Summary:

The Retail/Catering Lead provides high quality catering services for events such as banquets, dinners, and receptions in the Markee Pioneer Student Center, Ullsvik Hall and other campus and community sites. The Retail/Catering Lead provides guidance and direction to catering student managers and student employees. The position starts at $20.00/hr and is commensurate with experience!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Dining Services staff in the setup, preparation and service of catering, student center food court operations and all other Dining Services locations.
  • Game plan daily operation based on the priorities of the day, communicating with management, staff and the customer to insure operational standards.
  • Direct the setup, delivery of service and break down of service.
  • Monitor dining area and serving lines for proper appearance.
  • Evaluate quality of service to guests, recommending changes to Assistant Director Dining Services.
  • Troubleshoot dining and kitchen concerns, such as food shortages, timeliness of food deliveries, etc.
  • Provide direction and leadership to team members
  • Maintain proper sanitation standards.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience in food service
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends (with $ differential!)
