Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, Developer Success Team (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)

Job Description

As a Senior Engineer, SRE on our Developer Success Team, you will be pivotal in building scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. You will maintain high operational standards, lead key projects, and drive innovation within the team. Your role will be essential in ensuring our systems perform seamlessly and meet Nordstrom's standards for operational excellence.

A day in the life…

    - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure their systems adhere to Nordstrom's engineering standards.

   - Mentor team members and other engineers on best practices

    - Lead the design and implementation of projects aimed at improving operational excellence across the Technology Team.

    - Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability and scalability.

    - Develop and refine tools and automation to enhance system performance and operational efficiency.

   - Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for critical issues and incidents.

   - Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual efforts through automation.

   - Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise engineering standards, as well as system and procedural documentation

You own this if you have…

  -  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

   - 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on site reliability or infrastructure

  - Proficiency with Kubernetes and containerization technologies

   - Experience with programming languages such as Java, Go, and Python

   - Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure

   - Strong networking experience and understanding of network protocols

    - Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues

    - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

    - Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic and Splunk

    - Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Chef

    - Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tools like GitLab CI

    - Experience with incident management and root cause analysis

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $120,500-$220,500 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
