Job Description

Within Vattenfall we have the clear goal to enable a fossil free society within one generation. This ambition includes for example electrification of the transport sector and CO2-emitting industries, but the core in this ambition is to have sustainable electricity production. Vattenfall is now ramping up its growth within renewables, making the fleet fossil free. 

To help achieve this ambition, we are now looking for an

Associate Permit Manager, Offshore Wind

to assist our Senior Permit Development Manager(s).
You will be part of our dynamic project team, supporting the development of bids for new offshore projects as well as the development of existing projects, including our Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm, the first subsidy free offshore wind farm.  These projects are playing a central role in Vattenfall’s strategy to become fossil free. 

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, working within the Consenting Team and also with the wider international project team, and so must be fluent in Dutch and have a good level of English.

Your responsibilities 

  • In cooperation with our Senior Permit Development Manager, you will act as a ‘spider in the web’ and problem solver. In the development of offshore wind energy, the permit and development  process play a key role, with the aim of ensuring the responsible and compliant  siting, planning, construction, system integration, operation and decommissioning of projects. 

  • You will support in the development of the bid and permit request for new projects, like the upcoming tender for the project IJmuiden Ver, as well as in the development of our existing project pipeline.  

  • By being involved in all stages of the projects, you have the chance to help shape the future of our energy landscape. 

  • You will be required to promote a safety-conscious and sustainable environment.

Location
The base for this post is Amsterdam, however there is flexibility in terms of home working.  International travel will also be required. 

Qualifications

Your profile

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline in a relevant field (for example such as Human Geography and Planning, Law, Built Environment, Policy & Management (Technische Bestuurskunde) or Environmental Science etc.) and preferably  2 years experience. 

  • Experience and /or interest in renewable energy and environmental policy and planning and its impact on project development. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (native Dutch and fluent in English). 

  • Drive and ambition and a desire to work at the forefront of this fast evolving market. 

  • A wish to work in an international multi-disciplinary team & willingness to travel. 

  • Ability to work effectively both independently, and as part of a team.
