The Associate Director (AD), Customer Account Manager (CAM) for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) reports to the MDA CAM and is responsible for assisting in shaping and growing Raytheon’s business with MDA and serving as the on-site focal point between Raytheon and the agency.

The AD, CAM drives customer intimacy, advocacy, and alignment by understanding MDA’s mission priorities, shaping future requirements, and leveraging Raytheon’s full portfolio of products, services, and solutions. This role requires a proven ability to operate across Raytheon business units, cultivate senior-level relationships, and identify opportunities to deliver integrated solutions that advance both MDA and Raytheon objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement & Advocacy
    • Serve as the on-site interface, supporting the MDA CAM, between Raytheon and MDA leadership, establishing and maintaining trusted relationships across technical, programmatic, and acquisition communities.
    • Listen, understand, and represent the voice of the customer to internal Raytheon stakeholders, enabling cross-business collaboration and integrated solutions.
  • Strategic Planning & Business Growth
    • Collaborate with Requirements & Capabilities (R&C), product line, and functional leaders across RTX to develop and execute strategies that align Raytheon’s capabilities with MDA’s evolving mission needs.
    • Shape future requirements by understanding MDA priorities and connecting Raytheon discriminators to upcoming capability gaps and funding opportunities.
    • Own and operate the assigned R&C pipeline, ensuring accurate opportunity forecasting and prioritization.
  • Internal Coordination
    • Support senior leadership engagement planning between the MDA CAM, Raytheon and MDA executives, ensuring consistent messaging and strategic alignment.
    • Prepare artifacts in support of Gate Reviews (Gates 1 through 4), ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to Raytheon standards.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders, as directed by the MD ACAM, to synchronize strategies across RTX businesses and leverage cross-company solutions for MDA pursuits.
  • Industry & Mission Influence
    • Represent the MDA CAM in his/her absence at MDA-related forums, industry days, and technical exchanges, positioning the company as a mission partner of choice.
    • Develop and maintain customer contact and engagement plans to foster a One Raytheon approach to managing MDA relationships

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education & Experience
    • A bachelor’s degree and minimum 12 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 10 years of experience in business development, program management, defense acquisition, or related fields.
    • Direct experience with Missile Defense Agency programs, priorities, and acquisition processes highly desired.
  • Technical & Business Expertise
    • An understanding of integrated air and missile defense systems, effectors, sensors, and command-and-control solutions.
    • An understanding of new business creation, shaping customer requirements, and driving complex business captures within the U.S. defense acquisition ecosystem.
    • An understanding in pipeline development, cross-selling strategies, and integrated solution delivery.
    • Familiarity with U.S. government contracting, export controls, and DoD acquisition policies and regulations.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Proven ability to operate across multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed teams and influence without direct authority.
    • Strong network and established relationships within MDA, OSD, and the broader missile defense community.
  • Other Requirements
    • Active U.S. Secret clearance required; Top Secret/SCI eligibility preferred.
    • Willingness to travel between Huntsville, AL; Fort Belvoir, VA; and other MDA locations as required.
