POSITION SUMMARY:
The State of Florida is committed to the sharing of law enforcement data statewide to ensure the best possible capabilities to identify and neutralize current and potential threats to public safety. Each of the seven state Domestic Security Task Forces and the State Node must inventory, manage and work to make this data available for statewide sharing. This position reports to the Info Tech Business Consultant Manager in Tallahassee. This advertisement will fill two vacancies - one for Region 3 (Northeast Florida) and one for Region 5 (Central Florida). The selected applicant will be required to live within the assigned region. Day travel may be required within the assigned region. Region 3 includes the following counties: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, and Union. Region 5 includes the following counties: Brevard, Indian River, Lake, Martin, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, St. Lucie, and Volusia.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Assisting Law Enforcement Information Exchange (LInX) users and agencies in the evaluation and delivery of services pursuant to the contract and service level agreements;
- Providing coordination between agencies and the LInX vendor during implementation lifecycles;
- Providing cross-Regional support as needed;
- Developing and delivering training programs and materials for end-users and administrators;
- Serving as the liaison between state agencies, vendor, and the regional metadata planner team;
- Assisting in the execution of annual database audits, security review, and access monitoring;
- Building and maintaining working relationships with agencies to facilitate on-going communication regarding statewide data sharing;
- Traveling to agencies within assigned Region to ensure continued participation in data sharing;
- Providing system usage assistance to end users; and
- Monitoring for adherence to established standards set forth in the contract and other controlling documents.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of information sharing, basic computer operations, and information analysis;
