Your Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Software Engineer for John Deere in Milan, IL, you will:

 

• Design, develop, test, and integrate applications of medium to high complexity;
• Operate in a collaborative, open environment collaborating with staff engineers and pairing with them to come up with design solutions and guiding junior developers on technical aspects within the team;
• Engage in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives and hackathons;
• Provide technical expertise to define and refine features in preparation for grooming with the team;
• Perform hands-on code development and delivery and ensure that coding standards, patterns and approaches are appropriate, consistent and of high quality;
• Establish a culture of software crafting best practices in your team, including Test Automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment;
• Collaborate with staff engineers and other teams on new technologies and technical thought leadership;
• Collaborate with other teams to help drive alignment and understanding of requirements and dependencies;
• Influence our overall product development strategy and roadmap;
• Provide application support and perform root cause analysis.
• Up to 40% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite.

 

What Skills You Need

 

• 5 years of experience in analyze the requirements and perform technical feasibility assessments by participating in multiple phases of software development life cycle including requirement gathering, software design, development, testing, delivery, maintenance and support of computer applications based on scrum based agile methodology projects for clients
• 2 years of experience in translate functional requirements into technical specifications, refine it to features and break down to user stories for planning and development to provide estimations for deliverables
• 5 years of experience in build low latency, distributed, scalable and reliable backend systems which includes designing and developing medium to complex Java applications
• 3 years of experience in ensure that performance parameters expected from the module being developed are in acceptable limits by monitoring the application under pr
