POSITION:
PART-TIME LECTURERS POOL IN PHYSICS: The Department of Physics and Geology invites applications for multiple, on-going, part-time appointment(s) at the rank of Lecturer. Our part-time lecturers teach anywhere from one course a semester to three courses a semester. The person appointed to this position will teach in the areas of Physics and Astronomy (Lecture & Lab). This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
M.S. in Physics or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in Physics or related field. A potential candidate’s consideration will be
enhanced by providing evidence of successful teaching of similar coursework at the college level.

COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT and THE COLLEGE:
The College of Sciences is one of four colleges on campus and is comprised of the Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Sciences, Geology, Nursing, Psychology and Child Development departments. With about 2000 undergraduate majors and graduate students, the College of Sciences is one of the fastest growing colleges in the University. The Department of Physics, Physical Sciences and Geology is housed in the new, state-of-the-art 110,000 square foot Naraghi Hall of Science.
