SUMMARY
The Enterprise Data & Analytics organization is looking for a Business Intelligence Architect to play a pivotal role in the expansion of business capability by providing curated datasets and technical solutions to Finance business executives.  Furthermore, the individual will be utilizing the latest cloud solutions to deliver standardized, ubiquitous models across the organization. Ultimately spending their time crafting value by creating data models and schemes and utilizing Snowflake, Power BI, dbt Labs and overall data engineering skills. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a culture of data ownership and stewardship
• Improve data quality and hierarchical structures
• Develop new data pipelines using SQL and data warehousing skills
• Recognize and streamline manual processes by applying modern data models in cloud-based solutions
• Formulate relational models to support the growing requirements of the business
• Connects finance master data to other Ansys-wide data models and initiatives
• Implement MVP principles to refine and design solutions in an agile fashion
• Establish robust and dynamic security (RLS/OLS) on Power BI datasets in line with business requirements  
• Enhance existing ETL efforts to increase analytical capability and data frequency
• Promote self-service data analysis
• Help us build a world-class BI organization by developing, standardizing, maintaining and driving continuous improvement of Business Intelligence processes

 

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics or equivalent technical field
• 8+ years of relevant work experience utilizing SQL and Power BI
• Familiarity with Snowflake or another cloud-based data warehouse
• 8+ years of relevant work experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including advanced excel knowledge and SharePoint Online exposure
• Familiarity with an enterprise ERP data stack (Oracle, SAP)
• Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Power BI including composite models, familiarity with Power Query, DAX calculations, drilldown features, and service/workspace security
• Advanced relational modeling skills with experience using star schema’s and bridge tables
• Prior work experience within financial system reporting other cloud platform
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Strong self-management skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced SQL skills utilizing CTEs and window functions in analytical workflows
• Prior work experience deploying version-controlled data pipelines
• Experience using cloud orchestration tools with CI/CD, DBT is a plus
• Intimate knowledge of the DAX language for Power BI including a deep understanding of filter context
