Visa’s Acceptance Solutions Professional Services (ASPS) solves problems and accelerates innovation and growth for our merchants, acquirers, partners, and payment technology providers by providing a range of services including consulting, technology, and business transformation, developing target state architectures, customer journey mapping, solution development, product acceleration, software development, testing, migration, implementation, and value realization. 

Position Overview

This is a Director level role. VISA is a strong leader in the payment industry and is rapidly transitioning into a technology company with significant investments in this area. Visa’s ASPS builds solutions that accelerate our customers to deliver value faster. We are in search of inquisitive, creative, and skillful technologists to join our ranks. We are currently looking for a Managed Services (Client Software Delivery) Engineering leader who will take the lead and manage several strategic technical and technological initiatives for Visa and our clients.

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for establishing, building and delivering critical business and technical capabilities both on the Visa platform stack as well as clients’ platform/stack including idea generation, architecture, design, development, and testing of products, applications, and services.

The ideal candidate is an expert in modern engineering practices like TDD, CI/CD, DDD, microservices, and cloud engineering, has a passion for solving complex problems with tech skills, and are skilled at developing engineering talent and building a high performing team.

To be successful in this role, the candidate needs to be a technical leader with the ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with business and technology partners and be able to think broadly about the business and drive delivery of solutions that will enhance Visa’s and clients’ offerings to the customer.  The candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and excellent collaboration skills.  

Essential Functions

• As an engineering lead, you will lead initiatives to architect, enhance, and build solutions in an agile development environment.
• Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
• Responsible for the overall development life cycle with significant bottom-line impact.
• Deliver products with complex technical interdependencies collaborating with cross geographical development and product teams. Collaborate with Product Office, Operations & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Client Support, and other Product Development teams in developing complete solutions.
• Build a culture of engineering excellence (quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, resilience etc.) across your own teams and the entire organization.
• Drive projects that involve full stack development using technology such as Java, Spring, NodeJS, Microservices, Rest based APIs, frontend frameworks etc.
• Experience working in a strong DevOps culture is a plus.
• Drive solution architecture and technical architecture with product owners, engineers, and technical product managers to scale products to highly functional, secure, performant, and resilient platforms.
• Lead development teams on projects and be responsible for end-to-end execution and delivery to KPIs on commitments.
