Finance Manager, Global Operations - Decatur, IL (preferred)
This is an exempt-level position.
Position Summary:
The Global Operations Finance Manager plays a key role in driving financial performance, alignment, and insight across the global manufacturing footprint. This role supports the Operations Finance Director, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment across regional production sites. Position will provide support within the group to meet financial performance, assessment and tracking of productivity and investment targets, and ensure collaboration and alignment among different BU and stakeholders across all ADM business. He/She will also ensure projects and investments are thoroughly developed, analyzed, and their performance rigorously monitored post-implementation
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of monthly financial reporting, operational performance tracking, forecasting, annual budgeting, and support the five-year strategic planning process.
- Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to support cost analysis, operational planning, and productivity initiatives across global operations.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Performance Management and FP&A teams to analyze key drivers of efficiency, assess performance trends, and recommend actionable improvements that enhance productivity, reduce costs and challenge forecast for opportunities and risks.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, trend forecasting, and variance explanations using comparative benchmarks; develop financial models to evaluate optimization opportunities and support decision-making.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities within operations; recommend opportunities and initiatives to drive efficiency and improve financial performance.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and investigations related to manufacturing costs, ensuring accurate cost accounting and control; identify discrepancies, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization while collaborating with accounting and operations teams to resolve issues promptly
- Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and tools that enable timely and effective management review during monthly and quarterly reporting cycles.
- Provide financial leadership in support of ADM’s Operations Transformation agenda by establishing governance frameworks, tracking performance outcomes, and evaluating future investment opportunities to ensure sustainable value creation
- Support the preparation and evaluation of business cases, leveraging data analytics and technology to enhance insight generation and investment decisions.
- Coordinate and align annual and multi-year strategic plans with business units, ensuring consistency in goals, capital investments, and cost management strategies.
- Provide training and support to finance and operational colleagues, ensuring a strong understanding of financial metrics and business impact.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration;
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a similar position in large multinationals close to operations, manufacturing, logistics and distribution operations; international or global exposure and breadth of experience; experience in processing businesses, ideally oilseeds or / and carbohydrate solutions is definitely a plus to rapidly add value to the operations and businesses teams.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment with multiple, changing and competing priorities.

- Strong problem solving skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach; willingness to roll-up sleeves and make things happen; strong follow skills through and detail oriented
- Proven experience in leading projects and performing financial evaluation of business cases.
- Effective oral and written communication skills as well as ability to work with various levels of office and operational contacts; good presentation with an ability to communicate clearly.
- Positive, ‘can do’ hands on attitude with good influencing and stakeholder management skills; ability to travel as necessary.
- Prior experience within ADM or in the industry is desired, as understanding ADM’s complex business model will be an accelerator in the learning process.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance principles.
- Solid analytical, data analysis and valuation skills; PowerBI or related analytical tools a plus
- Capital budgeting and Investment experience including partnership
