Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM

Responsibilities:

Facilities Maintenance:

  • Maintain electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, general plumbing, mechanical systems, and appliances. Maintains records of all work accomplished and provides reports to supervisor including equipment status, time, materials and corrective action taken.
  • Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment, food service equipment, machinery and appliances. Diagnose and perform the necessary level of mechanical or electrical repair. Responsible for adjustments, calibration, disassembly, rebuilding or replacement of parts, reassembly, start-up, operational testing and adjustment in accordance with

manufacturer’s specifications and sound maintenance practices.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot fire protection systems. Evaluate and remedy Trouble Codes, replace defective devices, inspect and clean early warning devices.
  • Inspect and maintain food service equipment. Perform repairs on electrical appliances.

Evaluate appliances for serviceability; recommend appropriate actions for repair or replacement. Repair or replace and install equipment as necessary.

  • Perform preventative maintenance as assigned. Complete inspections and maintenance by the scheduled date and initiate work orders for equipment maintenance and repairs outside of the scope of preventive maintenance.
 
  • Perform maintenance on plumbing fixtures, toilets, hot water heaters, tanks, piping, other plumbing and steam equipment as required.
  • Daily operation and maintenance of boilers, feed water system, standby oil delivery system, steam supply and recovery equipment. Monitor boiler efficiency.
  • Respond to emergency utility requests (water problems, toilets, lights, heating, and fire system) both during scheduled work hours and after hours as required.

Other duties:

  • Correct and/or report any safety hazards or discrepancy noted on the College campus and properties
  • Maintain shop and mechanical areas in a clean and orderly manner, and ensure all

assigned work areas are clean and maintained to promote efficiency and a safe working environment.

  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, carts, generators, and pumps.
  • Perform duties assigned, including, but not limited to: assisting in the department safety and disaster program, assisting co-workers with tasks and special projects, attending off-site training and/or conferences that may require travel, assisting in preparing for college functions and supporting commencement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position requires journey level skills and will be expected to share knowledge, cross train, and assist other employees in attaining knowledge and developing their skills. May be asked to perform leadership responsibilities in the absence of the utility supervisor.
  • Work with , supervise, and mentor student and temporary work force. Share information and assist in the development of employees’ ability to assist and maintain buildings and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Five years journey level experience in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning and/or refrigeration trades; or experience and education demonstrating proficiency in electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or building maintenance, or a combination thereof.

Demonstrate skills required include:

  • Licensed in the State of Oregon as a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME)
 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, installation, operation and

maintenance procedure manuals, safety rules and other technical documents as required.

  • Knowledge in the use and care of troubleshooting tools and diagnostic equipment commonly used in the refrigeration and electrical trades.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of personal computers, including the ability to write routine reports and maintain
